This position works under the Negotiated Agreement with an additional 8 days.

 

Qualifications:

Education/Certification: Bachelor’s degree, active Kansas teaching license, alternatives to the above qualifications as appropriate, LETRS vol 1 and 2 completed or in process 

 

Special Knowledge/Skills: Instructional skills, strong communication, experience leading groups and facilitating collaboration. 

 

Experience: 5 years of classroom teaching experience

 

Major Responsibilities and Duties:

  1. Collects and organizes student data; assists teachers in data analysis to inform instruction. 
  2. Demonstrates knowledge of evidence-based instructional strategies and works actively to build the capacity of faculty and staff in this area.
  3. Builds the capacity of teachers through co-teaching, lesson modeling, and deep coaching.
  4. Supports teachers in achieving their individual development plan (IDP) goals.
  5. Designs and delivers job-embedded professional learning.
  6. Supports district- and building leadership teams in strategic planning initiatives and school improvement efforts. 
  7. Consults with and leads interdisciplinary teams/committees as needed. 
  8. Actively participates in routine meetings and annual professional learning retreats with district administration.
  9. Models continuous improvement and lifelong learning through professional reading, conference attendance, and collaboration with colleagues.
  10. Supports induction and mentoring of new teachers.
  11. Maintains a detailed log or calendar of professional learning and coaching.
  12. Proven ability to work cooperatively with colleagues, including demonstration of an understanding of adult learning strategies.  
  13. Follow district safety protocols and emergency procedures.
  14. Maintain confidentiality as appropriate in order to comply with district, state and federal laws.
  15. Perform other duties as assigned to ensure the efficient and effective functioning of the school and district.

Tools/Equipment Used: Standard office equipment including personal computer and phone, standard classroom technology including computer and peripherals, personal or district vehicle

 

Posture: Prolonged sitting, frequent walking, pushing/pulling, occasional kneeling/squatting, occasional bending/stooping

 

Motion: Frequent keyboarding and use of mouse, occasional reaching, must navigate between district buildings

 

Lifting: Occasional light lifting and carrying (less than 15 pounds), occasional lifting of heavy objects

 

Environment: Primarily indoors, some outdoor supervision

 

Mental Demands: Work with frequent interruptions, maintain emotional control under stress, 

solve problems, Make decisions

 

Attendance: Must maintain regular and acceptable attendance/punctuality as required by the Board of Education policies and regulations.

 

Clearances: Background check, driving record, drug screen, TB test
