Do you want to make a difference in the life of a student? Our school is seeking caring, consistent, adults to join our paraeducator team. Paraeducators work closely with teachers to provide extra support to students.
The Positive Behavior Support (PBS) paraeducator works with students whose behavior impacts their ability to learn to a significant degree. The goal of the PBS staff is to help the student learn behavioral control strategies that will allow them to participate with their peers as much as possible. The younger the student the more they tend to outwardly display behaviors such as yelling/screaming, putting head down and not responding or even physical aggression. Non-violent crisis intervention training is provided to all staff supporting students in these classrooms. This training focuses on de-escalation and emotional regulation.
