We have an immediate opening for a teacher at Hope Learning Center (HLC).  This special education day school is located in Mount Hope, KS, a short drive from Wichita.  This is a low incidence elementary classroom.  The work is challenging, but very rewarding.  

The class size is small and we strive to have 1:1 para support for students.  Staff at HLC can have sub coverage on 4 half days to work on IEPs and other paperwork.  They also have five extra days as part of their contract and receive a 12% pay supplemental.  

Maize has a lot to offer teachers new to the district and those new to the profession.  All new teachers are matched with a  qualified mentor and both the mentor and mentee are supported by our team of Student Support Specialists and Instructional Coaches.  New teachers also participate in 8 half day professional development opportunities throughout the school year. 

Our teachers are encouraged to continue to learn and grow.  We offer a professional learning series that qualifies for college credits.  Tuition reimbursement is also a great perk!
