Help us provide healthy, nutritious, appealing food to our students and staff! This position fills in when our regular staff will have an extended absense. A Day in the Life:
- Prepare healthy, sanitary and appealing food to meet the nutritional needs of students and staff
- Utilizes sound sanitation standards in order to meet all district, state, and federal mandates
- Assist in serving food so that staff and students receive the food in a timely and friendly manner
- Perform other tasks necessary for efficient functioning of the food service program
(e.g. washing dishes, scanning tickets, keeping the kitchen cleaned and organized, etc)
- Assist in daily inventory, re-stocking supplies, and notifying manager so that the food service program has the necessary resources to function efficiently
- Monitor and ensure compliance with temperature guidelines of the food and dishwasher
- Deep clean and defrost as necessary
- Maintains confidentiality as required by district, state and federal laws
- Performs other duties as assigned to ensure the efficient and effective functioning of the kitchen
Successful Candidates:
- Pass a background check
- Have a current TB test
- Food Safety Basics – State Department of Education
- Are strong team players
- Possess basic computer and math skills
- Must enjoy a fast pace environment
- Understand and follow state health regulations
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent
- Can spend 80% of their day standing and 20% walking – Time is spent lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and using finger dexterity
- Can work in extreme temperatures in a noisy and crowded environment containing hazards
- Maintain regular and acceptable attendance/punctuality
